Mount Pleasant Library, Washington
The library dating from 1925 has been completely renovated, along with the addition of a wing that pays tribute to the impressive architectural character and historic dimension of the old building. Sandstone-colored and red terracotta covers the clear, modern structure in reference to the color scheme and materials of the original building, and fits in perfectly with the surroundings. The interior features the ceramic elements as attractive wall designs, where they now highlight the link between old and new.
