Centro Civico Alcorcon, Madrid
On the one hand simple and unadorned, and on the other, appointed with many striking features: the city council building in Alcorcon, Spain deserves a second look. The first characteristic that stands out is the elliptical design, which guarantees that the building is effortlessly embedded in the slightly hilly landscape. Colored bands representing the entire spectrum of complementary colors stretch around the façade and enclose the cream-white, large-format vertically mounted ceramic panels. Despite the severity of the visible geometric shapes, the building above all radiates serenity.
