FIFA World Football Museum
To create the new FIFA World Football Museum, the existing building dating back to the 1970s has been redeveloped, structurally renovated in parts and extended upwards. The redevelopment project focused primarily on state-of-the-art energy-saving concepts and natural materials, hence the construction of a back-ventilated ceramic façade that meets modern sustainability requirements. Relatively small-format, vertically arranged terracotta elements surround the enclosed areas. These elements – along with their edges – are sealed with a twice-fired, aubergine-coloured glaze to create an uninterrupted, uniform façade.
