SEAMLESS GLOSS TERRART® glazes in second firing offer a practically unlimited range of design possibilities. With modern firing techniques and sophisticated mixing processes, NBK glazes in second firing can be produced in almost all colour shades and surface structures, setting new standards in terracotta facade design.
The facade surface is refined by the use of glazes. As a manufacturer of ceramic facades, we develop glazes and textures according to customer requirements. Our experts in the field of glaze have enormous experience in developing glazes. This enables us to create attractive and unique glazes in cooperation with our customers.
The use of glazes is generally regarded as the “supreme discipline” of creative facade ceramics. With the technique of second firing, façade elements of the highest quality are achieved, especially due to the edge glaze created by this additional process. In addition, the colour effect of the glaze is particularly brilliant and expressive.
The glazes shown here represent only a small selection from our extensive colour palette. In the following we show you some examples of completed projects.
MUSEO M9, Mestre
Architect:
Sauerbruch Hutton
With the new museum at a place of cultural radiance, the history of the 20th century comes alive. Sauerbruch Hutton architects created an active building ensemble that captivates with its spectacular lines. Added to this is the attractive, colourful world on the facade with ceramic elements, which among other things emphasize the sloping course of the facade.
The glazes shown here represent only a selection of the color palette associated with this project. The use of semi-transparent glazes, in combination with different basic masses and thicknesses, gives the elements a very special depth.
BSU, Hamburg
Architect:
Sauerbruch Hutton
Lively, cheerful, positive and optimistic – this is how the overall impression of the new building can be described. The ensemble is enclosed throughout by a polychromatic façade: Parapet bands of approx. 900 m total length per floor, consisting of coloured glazed ceramic cladding, extend around the entire building and give it an unmistakably joyful character. The cladding is composed of 20 different colours, grouped in four colour families – blue, red, yellow and green – each with 5 undertones. The façade image shows a uniform and easily understandable structure that dissolves into a multitude of coloured particles – as a symbol of the diversity of nationalities, languages, religions and personalities that come together and form a unity.
