The reduction firing engobe

With the application of the sintered engobe, surfaces are produced in reduction firing with the use of metal oxide, whose metallic-looking structure is reminiscent of cast iron. Used in the TERRART® façade system, certain impressions and ideas can be realized to create unique façade solutions.

Due to the metallic-looking surface, ceramic facades with sintered engobes combine the structural properties of terracotta, such as weather and UV resistance, with a “metallic look”. As in all areas of planning, we also support you in choosing the right surface design for terracotta facades.

By using different base materials, METALOX develops color effects from a dark red to metallic gray.
Below are a few examples, many more shades are possible.
