King Open School, Camebridge
During the redesign of the public elementary school, the main focus was on ecological criteria: Material selection and technical equipment had to meet the highest standards as well as physical properties and lighting conditions. The result is an emission-free, highly energy-efficient building that is also aesthetically pleasing. A contribution to both requirements – sustainability and appearance – is made by the terracotta façade made of medium-format elements with different heights. Twelve different glazes in light shades of red form a distinctive course on the exterior walls.
