175 Wyman Street, St. Waltham
The grand office building in the capital city of Massachusetts stands out through clarity and simple elegance, which are defined by a consistent structure. The centre of attention is the slightly rounded, protruding side wing that provides a pleasant overall impression. The fine contrast of the defining colours – anthracite and yellow – bolsters this statement. The light-yellow ceramic elements exhibit interesting profiles, because they are somewhat irregular. Nevertheless, they have a very low-key effect. They are systematically distributed in order to produce finely raised lines and bands. This form was effectively captured again in the blinds above the window openings.
