Uptown Station, California

The impressive building, built in 1929 and representing the Beaux-Arts architecture, has retained its historical character even after its complete renovation – although it has been breathed fresh life into its interior and exterior. The terracotta of the facades is light in colour, which takes away the weight of the compact building and makes it attractive. The exterior view is also exciting and varied due to the use of medium and large format elements, some horizontal, some vertical and showing different surface structures: The horizontal panels in light and darker shades are grooved and have a natural finish, while the vertical panels have a fine profile and a white double-fired glaze including glazed edges.
