With 390 new parking spaces across four levels, the new parking garage serves to reduce stress in the centre of the Westphalian metropolis. Despite its size, the attractive white and brick-red building appears light, nearly delicate. This is especially due to the light-coloured, double rows of TERRARTR-Baguettes that are mounted like rungs. The offset arrangement provides draught protection, but lets in enough light and air to eliminate the need for complex ventilation systems. The multiple use of the parking garage – the ground floor contains shops – turns it into a bustling location that sets an accent from more than just the outside.
