Colegio Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Lima

Colegio Franklin Delano Roosevelt, The American School of Lima, is an independent international school for 1500 students. The campus is the official school of the U.S. State Department’s Office of Overseas Education in Peru and serves both an international community and host country nationals seeking a North American-style education.

The architects, Perkins Eastman, designed the school’s “Phase 1” projects: a state-of-the-art student commons and cafeteria that will serve the middle and high school, and a brand new elementary school.

For the design of the façade, the architects chose a well-thought-out mix of smooth and profiled terracotta tiles, combined by a strict geometrical arrangement, resulting in a very clear design language in the overall concept.
