Palomar College Maintenance Operations San Marcos

The Palomar College Maintenance Operations San Marcos building is a modern ancillary building and was constructed to relocate multiple facilities to free much-needed space for other projects. This new construction was designed to face many modern challenges. It operates as a Net Zero Energy building and achieved LEED Platinum certification. Horizontally installed TERRART®-Mid elements were used to enable this facilities sleek and earthen design. The rear-ventilated terracotta is uniquely suited for the challenges that the harsh California climate creates. Three different shades of orange-brown terracotta are almost reminiscent of the Vazquez Rocks in California. These tiles radiate strength, sturdiness and endurance among many other things.
