For more than 25 years, there have been considerations to build a new fire station, as the old station no longer met today’s requirements. Now the project in the small municipality at Bodensee could be realized – and the result is something to be proud of. On one side a compact, monolithic concrete building, the two-story extension with a slightly sloping roof provides a pleasing appearance that responds to the central location in the village center. Here, the façades are clad, partly over the entire surface and partly as surrounding bands, with red ceramic elements structured in relief, which form a luminous, delicate counterbalance to the solid concrete walls.
