Yalou Smart Park, Spata

Urban development is progressing in a suburb approximately 20 km east of Athens, where the biggest shopping centre and entertainment complex in the whole of Greece has been built in Yalou. One part of this is the Smart Park with its impressive offer of shops, restaurants and entertainment. Welcoming, warm natural hues give the shopping centre a sunny and inviting character. The expansive closed surfaces that are clad with TERRART® panels are visibly enlivened with a sun-blind-effect arrangement of different colours ranging from yellow to orange. The „sun blind“ theme continues in the narrow baguettes, which add contours through the contrast between the in some parts regular arrangement and the irregular spacing employed in others. These are also used to create an entrance and provide an upper limit for the pedestrian passages. The terracotta panels are accentuated with a range of different profi les. Another architectural element is the steel structure to which the ceramic elements are attached, which remains visible and provides all-around support for the glazed sun roofs.
